Stockbridge View Camping - the perfect place to stay for T‘n’A 2026?

For many locals, the perfect break doesn't involve a flight to Spain or a motorway drive to Cornwall…

It often simply means heading a few miles down the road to Stockbridge View.

More than half of the visitors to the popular campsite travel less than ten miles to stay there.

"People are just looking for a nice place to sit and chill," says owner David Burnfield.

"They also enjoy a walk down into Stockbridge, where they can have a drink without having to worry about driving back."

The Burnfield family have been farming in nearby Longstock since 1907. And David has always been a great supporter of Trout ‘n’ About. "People love it," he says.

David opened Stockbridge View, on the A30 above Salisbury Hill, five years ago. This year the campsite is, once again, a proud Rainbow Sponsor of Trout 'n' About 2026.

The site offers around 75 spacious "camp-where-you-like" pitches in a relaxed, back-to-basics setting, surrounded by beautiful Test Valley countryside.

Whether visitors arrive with a tent, campervan, motorhome or trailer tent, they're free to choose their own spot and settle in at their own pace.

Just a short walk along a scenic footpath leads directly into the heart of Stockbridge, where campers can enjoy the village's independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

The site combines simple camping with everything visitors need for a comfortable stay. Modern facilities include hot gas showers, composting toilets, a dishwashing area, chemical disposal points and hardstanding pitches for touring vehicles.

A site warden is always on hand to help.

Families appreciate the children's play area and wide-open spaces – and dogs are warmly welcomed. There’s even a special ‘dog shower’!

So, if you're planning a visit to Trout 'n' About on Sunday 2 August, why not turn your day out into a weekend away – at Stockbridge View?
