Meadow Stockbridge ready to celebrate Trout ‘n’ About

In the early 20th century Meadow Stockbridge was a cycle-hire shop. By the 1960s it was a petrol-filling station.

Today it’s a celebrated coffee shop, cafe and art gallery - with a beautiful old petrol pump still on display out front. And it’s a proud Rainbow Sponsor of Trout ‘n’ About.

By day, Meadow is an independent bistro with handcrafted espressos, morning pastries and midday meals.

There’s eye-catching local art on the walls and a fascinating schedule of public masterclasses, from celebrating summer flowers to discovering stained glass.

The building started life as Georgian townhouse - so there’s also a beautiful garden terrace outside.

In the evening, there are live acoustic music sets, with tapas and cocktails.

“It’s all going very well,” said assistant manager Bex Lee.

“We started a new tapas menu in June and that has been popular - as has the live music and the art classes.”

Meadow has room for more than 100 guests. But for Trout ‘n’ About 2026 it’s opening a second coffee bar on its garden patio, to deal with the expected crowds.

Bex added: “Trout ‘n’ About is the busiest day of the Stockbridge calendar. It’s complete chaos for six hours… then we all sit down and have a drink!”

Meadow’s status as a creative hub for Stockbridge means that its collaboration with Trout ‘n’ About has always been a natural fit.

“We’re very happy to be a Rainbow Sponsor because we love Stockbridge and we genuinely want to give something back,” said Bex.

“The whole day is all about celebrating this great community.”

On Sunday 2 August, during Trout ‘n’ About, father and son accoustic duo Matt and Jack Witt - who live on Stockbridge High Street - will be playing at Meadow.
