Fly-fishing and jazz at The Greyhound on the Test
The Greyhound on the Test will be staging fly-fishing demonstrations, on its own stunning river bank, during Trout ‘n’ About
There can’t be many pubs where the afternoon entertainment includes expert fly-fishing demonstrations by an idyllic stretch of chalk stream riverbank.
Well, that’s what happens at The Greyhound on the Test. Not least, because The Greyhound has its own private river beat, next to its pub garden.
And fly-fishing demos are on the bill for Trout ‘n’ About.
“Trout ‘n’ About is a great platform us and one of the busiest days of the year. It’s a real opportunity to show off Stockbridge,” said Joel Pagett, from The Greyhound.

“People who come to Trout ‘n’ About always have a good time. But we also find they often come back later in the summer, for a drink in the garden or even dinner.”
The Greyhound on the Test is an award-winning hotel and restaurant - and a proud Silver Sponsor of Trout ‘n’ About 2026.

On the day, it will have a big tent in its Riverside Garden, to provide shade for guests, who can pick up their drinks from its River and Rose Garden Bar.
Hampshire’s premier jazz vocalist Sticky Toffee Jazz will also be performing. While tacos and posh burgers will be served, in the garden, by the Original Fry Up company.
Joel added: “It’s a really cool vibe - and a great afternoon. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
